A rainy day…

my hand at photography...

Sitting on the roof top

Pondering my words

Hoping that inspiration would strike

But all that struck

Was the beat of the rain

Still I welcomed the respite

From the heat of the day

The air cools

And the wind whips droplets

onto my face

People scramble

To get away from the rain

As I drag my feet

Reluctant to move away

The wives pull in

The clothes left out to dry

Kids hop down the bus

To splash in the puddles

I take in the earthy wet smell

The sky looks so beautiful

Stormy yet strangely still….

Very nice imagery. I enjoy how succinct each line is.
I for one, enjoy the rain and appreciated the contrast.

The poem brought me there. Your words succeed to fill my senses with all the beautiful elements of the sudden down pour, and I, too, was reluctant to leave the scene.

Oh, how I so love and miss the rain of home.

    Thanks for visiting my webnook.

    I wish you well.
