Journal Entry 101

The alarm rings

I reach out to see the time

Mumbling about time still left

I roll over and

Pull the blanket over my head…

The alarm rings again

I blearily gaze at the time

Oh yes, I overslept

And had to scramble

thro’ the brushing and shower…

Eggs and toast invade my hand

As I scratch my pen on the surface

The whistle blows my thoughts away

Just as the steam rising up…

Hassling around to get ready,

My unfinished poem on the table

I promise to complete today

As I board the bus…

I reach the hall with minutes to spare

And sit down with a calm

That bellied the turmoil of moments ago…

I’m back home to wreck my PC

And complete my design

I fall asleep in my chair

The poem still lying undone…

You captured a day in the life of . . . many …. and lastly that is how I felt last night when I did not post my poem to go with the fireworks pictures,

Oh yes — it is a great poem that flows so well and conjures up clear and concise imagery.

    Have a wonderful relaxing day.
